Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs

Box Canyon Lodge and Hot Springs specializes in providing personal paradises to guests wishing to embark on a journey of rejuvenation and relaxation. The resort features natural hot spring tubs speckled along the side of a mountain. Each hot spring provides a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountainous landscape, making your soaking experience not only relaxing on your tired muscles, ye inspiring to the mind.

The Ute Indians originally traversed the Box Canyon Lodge area. As recently as 1925, settlers established world-renowned resorts to tap into the natural resources of the area. Originally, the waters that now wind through Box Canyon Lodge were used for a healing sanitarium. Now, the lodge maintains part of the original sanitarium, but has built out the mountain-scape with four redwood hot tubs for guests to enjoy.

The hot springs of Box Canyon Lodge are maintained at a constant temperature between 103 and 108 degrees- hot enough to melt away any and all muscle tension, no matter how tense everyday life outside of the Lodge can get. The same hot water is the source for the all-natural heating of the Lodge during winter months, making the entire facility bio-friendly and geothermically-fueled.

Box Canyon Lodge is open year-round. Winter sport enthusiasts take advantage of Ouray’s skiing, snow-mobiling, ice climbing and winter hiking opportunities. Summer vacationers can enjoy a warm-weather game of golf, canoeing or hiking when they are not relaxing in the inviting hot springs surrounding the Lodge.
