Wiesbaden Hot Springs Spa and Lodge
Set aside beneath the snowy San Juan Mountains in Ouray Colorado rests the cozy spa and lodge of Wiesbaden. Wiesbaden is the premier Western destination for travelers seeking an intimate setting for their relaxing and rejuvenation. With the quiet atmosphere and copious access to some of America’s finest hot springs, the Wiesbaden offers guests a one-of-a-kind spa experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere.
Perhaps the most therapeutic quality of Wiesbaden is the knowledge that the hot springs have continually flowing hot springs, which are all natural and completely untreated by human hands. The spa is so sensitive to the needs of guests for an all-natural lifestyle that they do not permit entry to any guests that have pets or that smoke. They will even discourage guests who have smoked at all in the past three months so that those guests with acute sensitivities will feel comfortable.
Wiesbaden is known around the world for the quality of the spa experience they offer. Travel and Leisure magazine, The New York Times, Sunset, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, Shape and National Geographic Traveler, are among the publications that have written about Wiesbaden.
The origin of this highly celebrated spa water comes from deep down in the core of the Earth’s surface. The resort of Wiesbaden is situated directly above the location where a handful of all-natural hot springs come up from the earth. Because of the close proximity to the hot spring origin, the water in this spa retains its heat at a steamy 78-128 degrees year-round. The pools themselves comfortably range in temperature from 99-108 degrees.
Guests may select to bathe in the natural hot springs Vaporcave, which is the hottest location on the resort premises at an average of 108 degrees. The popular Vaporcave is located literally underneath the mountain, just below the main lodging area of the spa. The water in the cave first falls over natural rock formations within the cave at a cool 78 degrees.
Hotter water is collected in the 18-inch deep soaking pool, which is located further within the cave. This pool ranges in temperature from 107-109 degrees and is the perfect spot to lay back, enjoy a good conversation and simply relax.
If guests wanted to enjoy a day of privacy, they can choose to soak in the secluded outdoor Lorelei. The Lorelei is a private pool that is filled with water directly from the Wiesbaden’s natural hot springs.
No matter where guests choose to partake in their well-deserved relaxation session, they will rest easy knowing that none of the Wiesbaden water has been re-circulated. The pools are as natural as they come, with water flowing in on one end and out on the other.
In addition to a well-deserved soak, guests can enjoy a selection of other spa treatments, such as therapeutic massage, reflexology, facials, herbal wraps, dry brushing, and mud wraps. Overnight guests of the resort enjoy a generous discount to the hot springs and spa therapies.
